The first time I saw it was on the late show. I still get chills. What a great thing this movie is. I saw this wonderful flick in the theater when it came out. I wish I could remember who it was or exactly what he said. I only yesterday saw this comment, and I apologize for the extremely delayed response, but thanks for reading my blog!

I love your observations on this wonderful movie. It was shown year after year in my little home town theater as a free movie for kids, possibly during the Christmas school break.

I chuckled in agreement with your comments about the Perry Mason theme music. I, too, was terrified of that music! Now, I love the Perry Mason reruns but the music still gives a little chill. I watch the show now, as an adult, but the theme music prompted such a sense of dread in me when I was a child, and my grandma, who raised me, never missed an episode….

If we assume that mankind has a right to survive, then we must find an alternative to war and destruction. Though Martin Luther King has not personally committed himself to the international conflict, his own struggle is a clarion call to all who work for peace. He is the first person in the Western world to have shown us that a struggle can be waged without violence.

He is the first to make the message of brotherly love a reality in the course of his struggle, and he has brought this message to all men, to all nations and races. Today we pay tribute to Martin Luther King, the man who has never abandoned his faith in the unarmed struggle he is waging, who has suffered for his faith, who has been imprisoned on many occasions, whose home has been subject to bomb attacks, whose life and the lives of his family have been threatened, and who nevertheless has never faltered.

To this undaunted champion of peace the Nobel Committee of the Norwegian Parliament has awarded the Peace Prize for the year Jahn delivered this speech on December 10, , in the auditorium of the University of Oslo.
